1 ml three-piece Luer slip syringe with detached 30G x 13 mm hypodermic needle
Description
The BD Plastipak™ 1ml Syringe With Detached BD Microlance™ 3 Needle is a sterile, single-use syringe and needle combination designed for precise low-volume injections. The set combines a 1 ml BD Plastipak™ three-piece syringe with a concentric Luer slip tip and a separate BD Microlance™ 3 hypodermic needle, 30G x 13 mm (½\), colour-coded yellow. The clear barrel with fine graduation markings supports accurate dose setting, while the three-piece construction with silicone-lubricated plunger provides smooth, leak-tight performance. The BD Microlance™ 3 needle features a thin-walled, triple-bevelled, silicone-coated stainless-steel cannula for sharp, low-resistance skin penetration and reduced patient discomfort. The product is classified as a Class IIa medical device and is ethylene oxide sterilised, supplied as a box of 120 individually wrapped combinations for clinical, medical, and aesthetic injection procedures.
Bnefits
- Includes a 1 ml BD Plastipak™ three-piece syringe with concentric Luer slip tip for secure needle attachment and precise low-volume dosing.
- Clear syringe barrel with finely printed graduation scale (0–1 ml) to support accurate measurement of small medication volumes.
- Three-piece design with elastomeric plunger tip and silicone lubrication enables smooth plunger travel and reliable, leak-tight performance.
- Detached BD Microlance™ 3 hypodermic needle, 30G x 13 mm (½"), thin-walled and triple bevelled for sharp, low-resistance penetration and improved patient comfort.
- Yellow colour-coded hub for quick visual identification of 30G needles according to international colour standards.
- EO (ethylene oxide) sterilisation and single-use design help to minimise infection risk and cross-contamination.
- Compatible with general-purpose injection and aspiration from vials, ampoules and subcutaneous sites in a wide range of clinical settings.
- Latex-free construction (no natural rubber latex in the material formulation) helps reduce the risk of latex-related reactions.
- Compact 1 ml format is widely used in aesthetics and dermatology for precise delivery of small doses, such as local anaesthetic or other injectable therapies.
Indications
- General-purpose injection and aspiration of fluids from vials and ampoules using a 1 ml syringe.
- Subcutaneous and intradermal injections where a fine 30G needle and low-volume syringe are clinically appropriate.
- Administration of small medication doses, such as vaccines, allergy desensitisation agents, heparin or other drugs, as per local clinical protocols.
- Use in aesthetics and dermatology for precise administration of injectable treatments (e.g. local anaesthetic, small-volume adjunctive medications) when performed by appropriately trained professionals.
- Procedures requiring a fine-gauge needle to minimise tissue trauma and improve patient comfort.
Composition
- Syringe barrel: transparent medical-grade polypropylene, with printed black graduation scale up to 1 ml.
- Plunger rod: polypropylene plunger with elastomeric plunger tip, lubricated with silicone oil to provide smooth movement.
- Tip: concentric Luer slip adapter compatible with BD Microlance™ 3 and other Luer-based hypodermic needles.
- Needle: BD Microlance™ 3 hypodermic needle, 30G x 13 mm (½"), thin-walled stainless-steel cannula with triple-bevel tip and silicone coating for low penetration resistance.
- Needle hub: colour-coded yellow plastic hub, compliant with ISO colour coding for 30G needles.
- Sterilisation: ethylene oxide (EO) sterilised, sterile interior for syringe and needle.
- Latex-free construction and PVC-free needle hub and syringe components, non-pyrogenic and single-use.
Formulation
- Sterile, single-use syringe and hypodermic needle set comprising a 1 ml three-piece BD Plastipak™ Luer slip syringe and a detached BD Microlance™ 3 30G x 13 mm needle, EO-sterilised, latex-free, designed for accurate low-volume medication delivery.
Packaging
- Box of 120 BD Plastipak™ 1 ml syringe and BD Microlance™ 3 30G x 13 mm needle combinations.
- Each syringe and needle set is individually packaged in a sterile blister or peel pack to maintain aseptic integrity until use.
- Outer carton printed with product name, BD branding, reference/SKU 303177, gauge and length of the needle (30G x 13 mm), quantity (120), sterilisation method (ethylene oxide), classification (Class IIa), lot number and expiry date.
- Packaging configuration suitable for clinical environments, allowing organised storage, stock rotation and easy identification alongside other needles and syringes.
Usage
- Check the outer carton and individual blister for integrity and expiry date; do not use if packaging is damaged or expired.
- Open the sterile pack using aseptic technique and remove the syringe and detached BD Microlance™ 3 needle without touching critical sterile areas.
- Attach the needle hub firmly to the concentric Luer slip tip of the syringe, ensuring a secure connection.
- Draw the prescribed medication from a vial or ampoule into the syringe, tapping gently to release air bubbles and adjusting the plunger so that the plunger edge aligns precisely with the required graduation marking.
- Expel any remaining air from the syringe in accordance with local policy before injection.
- Select and prepare the injection site according to clinical guidelines (e.g. skin disinfection, appropriate injection depth and angle for the route of administration).
- Perform the injection using established clinical technique, depressing the plunger smoothly to deliver the dose.
- Withdraw the needle and apply local pressure or dressing as required; do not recap the needle unless local safety policy specifically permits and safe recapping technique is used.
- Immediately dispose of the used syringe and needle as a single unit into an approved sharps container.
- Do not reuse; BD Plastipak™ syringes and BD Microlance™ needles are sterile, single-use devices.
Contraindications
- Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to stainless steel or any component materials of the syringe or needle.
- Not suitable for infusion or applications requiring large-volume delivery; this product is designed for low-volume injections (1 ml capacity).
- Do not use if the sterile packaging is opened, damaged, wet or otherwise compromised before use.
- Single-use only; reuse may increase the risk of infection, cross-contamination, needle dulling or device failure.
- Use of a 30G needle may be inappropriate for high-viscosity solutions that cannot pass easily through a fine-gauge cannula; in such cases, select a larger gauge needle in accordance with clinical guidance.
Adverse Effects
- Local injection-site reactions, such as pain, redness, swelling, bruising or minor bleeding, may occur as with any injection.
- Risk of infection at the injection site if aseptic technique is not followed.
- Potential for tissue trauma, nerve injury or haematoma if injection technique or site selection is inappropriate.
- Risk of needlestick injury to healthcare workers if standard sharps precautions are not observed.
- Allergic or sensitivity reactions to device materials are rare but may occur in susceptible individuals.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a clean, dry environment at normal room temperature, away from direct sunlight and extremes of heat or cold.
- Keep the product in its original packaging until use to protect sterility and prevent contamination or mechanical damage.
- Do not expose the packaging to excessive moisture or crushing forces that may compromise integrity.
- Do not use the product beyond the expiry date printed on the packaging.
- Store in a secure area in accordance with local policies, out of reach of unauthorised persons and children.
